Cockscomb, also known as celosia or wool flower, is aptly named for its resemblance to a rooster’s comb. A vintage bloom that recalls traditional flower gardens, cockscomb displays vibrant yellows, pinks, reds and gold. However, our gardeners can create them for you in any shade under the sun!
This striking flower symbolizes affection and is traditionally associated with pagan Midsummer celebrations and the Oaxaca Day of the Dead. It is a favorite choice for weddings, where the interesting shape creates drama in centerpieces and bridal bouquets.
Try pairing dark pink cockscomb with raspberry roses and pink orchids for a summer bouquet. For fall, orange, red and pink cockscomb is stunning combined with yellow roses and pale green accents. For the home, we have seen magenta cockscomb ringed with spring green cockscomb and placed in a shallow white bowl to great effect. Consider gifting these spectacular blooms to extend the hand of friendship!
